The oven took forever to preheat and never quite got there. He found the broil element open and the bake element weak, and was clear that replacing one without the other would just bring him back. Both done in one visit.
About the shop
Ironside Appliance Repair works on Viking equipment and nothing else. We do not sell appliances, we are not on a manufacturer contract, and nobody upstream of us benefits from you buying a new range.
An independent shop with no manufacturer contract and no factory quota. We bill the customer, so the customer decides what gets done.
An independent specialist
We are an independent appliance repair company. That word matters and we use it deliberately: we hold no manufacturer appointment of any kind and we work under no outside service contract. The full legal notice is printed in the footer of every page on this site.
What we do have is a shop that works on one manufacturer's equipment and has done since 2013. Professional ranges, rangetops, wall ovens, built-in refrigeration, dishwashers, ventilation, outdoor grills and wine storage. That narrow focus is the whole proposition: we see the same faults often enough to recognise them, and we carry the parts that actually fail in this metro rather than a generic van stock.
Being independent changes the economics of a visit. On a warranty contract, an administrator decides what gets replaced and the technician gets paid a fixed rate per job. We bill the customer directly. That means we can spend an hour proving a fault instead of guessing at it, and it means we can tell you when the answer is an electrician, a plumber or a replacement rather than a part.
What we will not say
We will not describe ourselves as certified or factory approved, because we are none of those things and the manufacturer's own service program is closed and publicly searchable. We will not print a statistic we cannot point at a source for, and the score we do publish is nothing but the mean of the comments on the reviews page — the three-star ones included. If we do not know something, this site says so rather than filling the gap with a number that sounds authoritative.
The credential we do hold
EPA Section 608 certification, held by our refrigeration techs. It is a federal requirement to open a sealed refrigeration system and handle refrigerant. It is not a manufacturer program and it is not optional.
What we actually hold
Only genuinely held credentials appear here. There are two.
EPA Section 608 Certification
Federal requirement to open a sealed refrigeration system and handle refrigerant. Held by our refrigeration techs.
Independent shop
No manufacturer contract, no factory quota. We bill the customer, not a warranty administrator.

What customers said afterwards
4.8 out of 5, across 47 customer reviews. Every one is a single visit, in the words of the person whose kitchen it happened in.
The griddle section never came up to temperature and the burner under it roared. He found a cracked igniter and a warped baffle, changed both and reset the airflow. It cooks flat across the plate again.
Water collected under the crisper drawers and froze into a sheet. He cleared a blocked drain line, warmed the tube through and fitted the clip that keeps it clear. Nothing has pooled since and no parts were sold to us.
